Newborn Trio

For over fifteen years, I have had the fortune to work with wonderful international NGOs as a workshop facilitator, lecturer, and music therapist throughout the Balkans, Eastern Europe, South Africa, and Ecuador, offering workshops and lectures in music improvisation, meditation and community music. I continue to work closely with non-profit, educational arts organizations and diverse communities introducing music as an agent for social change, advocacy, and healing.

History

NewBorn Trio was formed in 2009 to perform at the Fyrma e Re flute festival that summer, a year after Kosovo gained its independence from Serbia. The group named itself after Newborn Day subsequently. Since then, NewBorn Trio has been commissioned to create a sound score for the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Ripe Time's production of "Sleep" based on the Murakami short story of the same title and has performed at Roulette and Issue Project Room in New York, the 24-hour drone festival in Hudson, NY and many other venues.
