During our 2 week immersion into our creative processes, we will explore the actor's pleasure in playing, and what brings each actor uniquely to life on stage, and we'll investigate the principles of play that sit at the heart of the theatrical event and give life to the comic world.

Through physical training based in improvisation, games, clown, neutral mask, voice, and the pedagogies of Jacques Lecoq, Roy Hart, Linklater, CircleSinging, Sound Painting, vocal improvisation and musical exploration -- we'll investigate how the body, voice, imagination and playful spirit of the performer work in unison to inhabit and reveal moments, emotions, characters, stories and worlds on stage.

​During our time together we will look at how the essential elements of play -- presence, pleasure, appetite, impulse, rhythm, resonance, repetition, timing, stakes, scale, stillness, attack, and more -- are embodied and expressed in both the voice and body.
