About the event

This workshop will lead participants in a process to explore the relationship between the body and the elements of ether, air, fire, water, and earth. Sounding with the voice and physical holding and sensing the body, informed by chakras, will be transformed into songs and visual maps of the body. (7 CEU’s)

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will gain an understanding of the resonances between music and art therapy for embodied healing work.
  2. Participants will explore the variety of tones, colors, and elements of the principle chakras.
  3. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the importance of interoception as a way to understand the central nervous system as it relates to and responds to body-based creative arts therapy practices.
  4. Participants will gain an understanding of the benefits of vocal toning to therapeutic practice.
  5. Participants will learn a new approach to whole-body art-making.

The New York Art Therapy Association (NYATA) is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State’s Board as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed creative arts therapists #CAT-0013.

Registration is required for this event and is now open. This is an in-person event and prior registration is required. Ther is a limit of 15 participants for this workshop. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the LCAT Advocacy Coalition
