Led by licensed creative arts therapist and sound therapist, Katie Down (MT-BC, LCAT) this weekend-long immersion in sound gives students an opportunity to delve into ways of listening, how listening informs our personal and professional practice, and how to use specific instruments including the voice in our healing modalities, yoga practice, meditation practice and personal lives.
We will explore basic sound theory with
hands-on practicum training to open students to discover their own methods and practice for incorporating sound into their own healing and process of transformation
Use a variety of instruments and voice
No prior sound experience required, however, if students are musicians and have instruments, they are encouraged to bring an instrument they feel they could use in their own personal sound practice.
Prancing Peacock's Sound Immersion Weekend is open to anyone interested in learning about sound as a tool for healing. Open to teachers, body-workers, yoga instructors, musicians, therapists, and anyone curious about ways of listening to connect ourselves and each other to our world.
This counts as an elective in the 300hr Teacher Training.
It is also available as a stand-alone immersion for interested students
